not the Medium!”
It’s the message, not the Medium!
Shaping Personality doesn’t mean Shaping PowerPoint – You’re the one telling the story. People follow people – and stories.
- Is your story relevant to your presentation?
- Structure your story: interesting beginning, captivating main part, clear conclusion (Connection – Attention – Presentation – Affirmation).
- Connect your ideas to an emotional story.
- Tell a tale from your life, drawing on some touching moments.
- Describe a (solved) problem, its cause and solutions.
- Juxtapose issues and make comparisons.
- Contrasts are highly effective, e.g.: before/after, past/future, problem/solution.
- Lists and tables are hard to remember. Stories stick.
- The more emotional your story, the better it will be remembered.
- Underline your story with strong visuals and gestures.
